The material combines high mechanical strength with the best possible surface quality and aesthetics. Material: ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylic Ester)
ASA is a high-tech polymer for outdoor use. This plastic is characterized by its particularly high strength, rigidity, and weather resistance. ASA owes these properties to its special ingredient: acrylic ester rubber. We process ASA as sheet material, meaning the parts are milled "from solid material." This process also produces the high-quality, matte, and scratch-resistant black finish typical of ASA. The ASA surface requires no further treatment; AC Schnitzer aerodynamic components made from ASA can be installed directly. Of course, painting is still possible upon request. Once the surface of the ASA material has been pretreated, it can be painted in any colour.
Creative design
PUR, ASA, or carbon: at AC Schnitzer, all designs come from a true Italian artist: Michele Viandante; he has been AC Schnitzer's Head Designer for many years. Of course, his designs aren't just beautiful; they also have to stand the test of time: for example, many parts are tested for functionality in the wind tunnel.
Tests
If the calculations match the results, further tests are required. Crash tests with dummies verify, for example, whether pedestrian protection is met. Only once all tests are completed and the certificates have been issued do AC Schnitzer aerodynamic components go on sale worldwide.
Appraise
The parts certificate is an official document that permits the use of tuning parts on public roads under the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) in Germany (and several other countries). After the part described in the certificate has been installed or modified, the vehicle must be presented to an official inspection centre. The inspector will verify the correct installation and authenticity of the part and then enter the modification in the vehicle documents. The vehicle's official operating license thus remains valid. The parts certificate is part of the delivery package.
