Funk Motorsport BMW N54 135I, 335I, 535I Turbo Blanket – FUNK-TBTN54-TI
The Funk Motorsport BMW Turbo Blanket is made from the highest quality materials and are available for all turbo applications. The BMW Turbo Blanket is specific to the twin turbo N54 engine featured on the 135i, 335i, 535i. This kit includes 2 blankets, left and right. Due to the complex shape of the BMW N54, the blanket represents again a more complex shape than out other blankets and therefore this blanket has been specifically designed for the BMW. This turbo blanket not only covers the turbo, but also the exhaust manifold, providing double the heat protection, whereas usually you would have to wrap your exhaust manifold separately.
Due to the close proximity between the two halves of the turbo, it is extremely common for heat sink to occur. This can decrease performance output while increasing the work of the input components during the combustion cycle. Funk Motorsport Turbo blankets are designed to keep the hot side of your turbo insulated while keeping the cold side at optimum temperatures. This helps to provide cooler airflow to the cooling system and MAF sensor, leading to an increased ignition spark and higher output of energy from combustion. By ensuring that the turbine sector of the turbo remains hot, less heat will be dissipated into the engine bay, ensuring that exhaust gases will flow with less turbulence from the exhaust.

Note of caution:
This turbo blanket is not flammable. However if any flammable fluids are introduced into close proximity of the blanket, the blanket could become a suitable ignition source for a flame to be produced. Please ensure that all necessary precautions are taken in regards to the appropriate maintenance of all oil and fuel lines and fittings surrounding the turbo charging and fuel injection system. Funk Motorsport take no responsibility for fluid contamination our products.
Whilst this heat shield is removable after fitment, it is not designed to be removed once a number of heat cycles has been introduced into the product. After the blankets have been heated they will lose some of their internal construction properties, though we must stress that this does not reduce any thermal properties of the product.
