Product Description :

The Oil Cooler from RacingLine is a complete kit to suit all MQB & MQB EVO 2.0 TSI models. An essential fit for any hard-driven EA888.3 or EAA888.4 engine running high power levels or in hot climates, this is a complete kit with everything needed for straightforward and reliable installation.

The RacingLine kit solves the problem of overheating oil caused by high power or hard driving: by adding in an additional air to oil cooler positioned right in the airflow at the front of the car, oil temperatures are reduced by around 15 - 20degrees centigrade.

The 10-row stacked plate cooler design forces the hot oil through a series of aluminium pressed plates right in the cool airflow in the front lower grille of the car. A clever sandwich plate design mounted underneath the oil filter is key to the RacingLine design, meaning installation is straightforward and reliable.

Not only that, but the RacingLine kit retains the factory oil-to-water cooler and supplements it with the front-mounted cooler - effectively doubling up cooling capability and transferring less heat into the car’s water system.

Note: newly built engines:

RacingLine does not recommend immediate installation of the 2.0 TSI Oil Cooler kit on a newly rebuilt engine (non-factory rebuilds). Due to the high filtration capabilities of the Stainless Steel Oil Filter, the assembly chemicals typically used by performance engine builders such as Molybdenum paste, engine assembly lube and grease used during engine assembly will be carried in the oil and can restrict filter flow or even lead to it blocking.

Once a minimum running in period of 1000 miles (1600Km) is complete on a freshly rebuilt/assembled engine, followed by a full oil flush and change (using VWG approved oil), the Oil Cooler kit can then safely be installed. The RacingLine Oil Filter should then be inspected and thoroughly chemically cleaned after a further 1000 miles.

Once the Racingline 2.0 TSI oil cooler kit is installed we recommend the Stainless Steel Oil Filter to be replaced or inspected and cleaned at 5000 mile service increments and alongside the vehicle's normal service milage.
